I have the honour to renew my application for transfer with promotion.
It is, I submit, needless to point out that the salary I am now receiving is totally inadequate to the services rendered.
The cost of the completed and uncompleted works which have been under my charge amount to two and a half million dollars.
This work has entailed long working hours and ever since my arrival in the Colony it has been my lot to work early and late.
It will be within your recollection that owing to the inadequacy of the staff to cope with the work during the years 1902 and 1903 my day's work usually finished about midnight and on several occasions at 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning.
